Tarro, New South Wales

Tarro (postcode 2322) is a north-western suburb of the City of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. It has a station (opened in 1857 with the Newcastle-Maitland railway, the first section of the Main North line from Sydney to the New England region)[1] on CityRail's Hunter line. It is also on the New England Highway.

Post code 2322, including Tarro, Beresfield, Hexham and Thornton, had a population of 14,654 in 2001, mostly in Beresfield and Thornton.[2]
