Tarek Ibrahim Saab (born September 24, 1978 in New Bedford, Massachusetts) was a candidate on The Apprentice 5. Tarek was fired from The Apprentice in Week Ten, 'Blow Out', but was selected to return for the final task to assist eventual winner Sean Yazbeck. He is the CEO of Lionheart Apparel, and he is writing a book that is due out in September 2007 entitled "Gut Check: Confronting Love, Work and Manhood in Your Twenties" through Spence Publishing.

[edit] Early life

Tarek was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to a Lebanese father and an American mother. He spent part of his childhood in war-torn Lebanon before relocating to the United States, at times living in public housing projects. As a youth, he was considered a wunderkind who was widely published and recognized nationally for academic and creative ability. By the seventh grade he was testing at the collegiate level.

Tarek attended Tabor Academy, a boarding school in Marion, Massachusetts, where he lettered in football, wrestling, and rowing. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Saint Anselm College and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Catholic University of America. At Catholic University, Tarek was a standout rugby player and very active in the humanitarian efforts of the school’s Campus Ministry.

Upon graduating from college, Tarek spent five years with Texas Instruments. During his time at TI, Tarek was published in technical journals and magazines, and his work was translated into several languages. He finished his career with TI as a Global Product Manager in the Semiconductor division.

Currently, Tarek is the CEO of Lionheart Apparel, a men's clothing line. He is also the author of the forthcoming book "Gut Check: Confronting Love, Work, and Manhood in Your Twenties."

Tarek is a very popular motivational speaker, speaking to youth audiences as well as young professionals. His speech entitled "Blue Collar Kid in a White Collar World" reviews his nine lessons for success at a young age.

Tarek is a member of the Maronite Catholic Church [1] and very active in the Pro-Life movement. He is a member of American Mensa, a fact that was emphasized when he was presented at the beginning of The Apprentice 5 season and to which Donald J. Trump has alluded on a number of occasions.

Tarek married his girlfriend, Kathryn Simpson, in May 2006, and he is currently a resident of Fort Worth, Texas. It has been frequently written that Tarek bears a resemblance to Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom.
