Tara Dakides (born August 20, 1975) in Mission Viejo, California is an American snowboarder and is considered to be influential to the sport. Tara has been snowboarding since she was 18 years old. She is a current resident of Mammoth Lakes, California.

Tara, also known as the "Terrorizor" is 5 feet 5 inches tall. She mainly participated in gymnastics and skateboarding as a child. Later, as a teenager, she branched out to several more dangerous and varied athletic indeavors. She became involved in motocross as surfing, as well as, mountains and snow based activities. This variety of sports experience gave her an edge in the X Games competitions.

At the 1999 Winter X Games Tara won silver and gold medals in the disciplines of Slopestyle and Big Air, respectively. In 2000 she won two gold medals at the Winter X Games. Tara repeated her win in Slopestyle with a combined score of 88.50, after three runs. She was able to top her second place result in Big Air, winning with a combined score of 78.00. At the 2001 X games Tara repeated her Big Air gold medal win with a score of 89.00, and came in seventh in slopestyle. Additionally, she took first in Slopestyle and fifth in Big Air at the 2001 Sims World Championships. Finally, in 2002 Tara won her third gold medal in slopestyle at the X Games. She was also honored with EXPN's Snowboarder of the Year award.

In May 2003 Tara participated in the Gumball 3000 rally race. She continues to race in motocross, shifter cars in addition to rally racing in the Baja 1000 competition. Aside from sports, Tara also is a cover model for various sports magazines, endorses the HuckDoll line of Tara Dakides Action Figures, her own trading cards, appearances in various video games and she has also created her own sporting cloth line sponsored by Billabong, Vans snowboard boots and signature snowboard with Jeenyus, making her business and marketing savvy on top of being a great athlete.

Tara was featured on Spike TV's special addition of MXC on April 22, 2004. The special was taped at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida and was dubbed MXC Almost Live. At the end of the episode, Tara successfully ran the Log Drop after being challenged by Tony Hawk.

During her appearance on David Letterman Show in 2004 Tara was performing a stunt, without wearing a helmet, when she had an accident. She had to be rushed to the hospital. She required stitches on the back of her head.

Tara was nominated for the 2005 Teen Choice Awards in the category Choice Xtreme Athlete - Female, losing out to the surfer Layne Beachley.
