[edit] Multiple linking

Hi, I notice that you are editing in wikilinks into several articles. While this is a good thing when a link is not there, generaly the style-sheet asks that the term or word is linked only once (when it appears the first time) and then not again there after. Thanks --DV8 2XL 16:09, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Featured Status!

Hi,

Our first task should be to get the Pakistan article to the featured status. Then we can work on the Pakistan Portal and related articles. Keeping Pakistan portal alive will be a nice thing, infact it's the only country in south asia with a lame portal.

I am in Helsinki(Finland) these days doing my MS from HUT.

Hi, i diagree with you Helsinki, i think the portal should be in line with the other portals. It needs to be continually updated with news, images and articles... Also, we need to update this page too, it has not been used for sometime but i feel it will be useful guideline for Pakistan district articles; Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistani districts

[edit] Pakistan Portal - Archives

W'sallam,

I have added the archive you requested for the Portal:Pakistan to the featured articles every week. Do check it.

I have also added a similiar archive for the featured pictures on the Pakistan Portal aswell. I shall continue to update bits and pieces on it. Thanks, Fast track 17 March, 2006

[edit] Articles/images about Pakistan

W'sallam,

I think its best to focus on articles and images related to Pakistan as the Portal is for Pakistan. There are Protals for Islam, Asia and technology, where you can read up about those topics. This portal was created for articles and images about Pakistan onlu.

I think we should keep the images and articles on a week basis that way it allows time for people to read it, by changing it everyday is too much....we need to give the readers a bit of time and a week is enough no more no less. Fast track 17 March 2006

[edit] Changes to Portal:Pakistan

W'Sallam,

I have made the following changed to the Portal:Pakistan

  • Removed the "Categories" and "Wikiprojects" boxes, as requested and replaced it with the "This Week back in history" box, which i hope is reguarly updated. Otherwise, I will change it to another box as the portal should be continually updated.
  • The "Archives" are corrected, as we have just started this portal from srtach, we dont have much of a history to fill in. The Archives are meant to remain on the Portal page, check other Portals they have the same format. I would like article and images to be as varied as possible so we can represent many parts of PAkistan...
  • I think the notice board for pakistan related topics needs to be formated as it has been left for so long without much use. The noticeboard needs to be reader friendly so it is easy to join the community. For ideas check some of the other noticeboards from the list of noticeboards.
  • I am going to change the image and feature article on Friday so let me know of some ideas as soon as possbile? The feature article and image for week one are already into the archives as WEEK ONE.

Many thanks, Fast track 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New templates for Wikipedians

W'Sallam,

We need some more templates to be used for people who will be editing Pakistani articles, take a look at the following templates on the Indian Wiki board, if possible can you make some for the Pakistan Wikipedians.

Here the link; Template Section

We need templates of the following if you can create them; The first four, instead of NRI we need one for expat-Pakistani (i.e. Pakistani living abroad) and the last one (British-Pakistani) and (American-Pakistani)

For table formating i think digitalSurgeon has more of an understanding about it than me. Im not sure about table formating. You may want to ask him just in case im not sure.

Many thanks Fast track 07:20 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you've created a few templates for use on Portal:Pakistan. I would advise against creating templates unless they will be used on several pages because it is simply uneconomical. Green Giant 20:32, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Wiki Pakistan Community

Hi Taqi Haider,

Firstly, just like to say your doing a good job creating alot of awareness of Pakistan through all these articles, especially your work on the main Pakistan community page article, which im hoping we can all promote.

The Pakistani community for sometime has been very dormant, as there were not many people here to write articles related to Pakistan. I think alot of us should asign tasks and work more as a community than individually. Here's the link;

Wikipedia:Notice board for Pakistan-related topics. Do take a look at all the other communities the way they are working to improve articles and promote their communities.

I think its about time we all do the same. As you may notice everthing is just been laid out, so now its our turn to fill the gaps. Do pass the word on to other Pakistanis and people working on Pakistani articles.

Many thanks, Fast track 06:59 08 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Join the Wiki Pakistan Project!

Just found a link on the Pakistan talk page that is asking fellow Wikipedians to join so we can start to improve Pakistani related articles; Check it out - Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects --Fast track 16:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
