Taperoo, South Australia

Taperoo (pronounced ['tæpǝrʉː], located at 34°48′S 138°29′E, postcode 5017) is a north-western suburb of Adelaide 18km from the CBD, on the [LeFevre Peninsula]] in the state of South Australia, Australia and falls under the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. It is adjacent to Osborne and Largs North. The post code for Taperoo is 5017. It is bounded to the north by Moldavia Walk and Solvay Road, to the south by Strathfield and in the west and east by St Vincent's Gulf and the Port River respectively.

Taperoo is essentially a residential suburb, with a minor harbourside presence on the eastern shore of the suburb.Taperoo is an Aboriginal word which means calm. The area was previously a portion of an area named Silicate.

The suburb is served by Ocean View College P-12 on Gedville Road. The Catholic Our Lady of the Visitation Convent provides a religious alternative. The western coastal side of the suburb is also graced by a sandy beach. The suburb is the seat of Fort Largs Police Academy, the training facility for South Australian police, and this is bordered Roy Marten Park, the primary recreational reserve in the suburb.

The 333 and 334 services travel along Strathfield Terrace, while the 336 travels along Victoria Road. The Outer Harbor railway line serves the suburb through the Taperoo railway station.
