Tapas Pal is a Bengali actor from Calcutta. He is the son of Dr. Pal of Chandannagar. He is the first in his family to begin a film career. His first movie appearence was in 1980 in the film "Dadar Kirti". Debasree Roy, a renowned film actress, also started her film career in the same movie. The movie was directed by Tarun Majumder and became an instant hit. He received a filmfare award for his role in "Saheb". After that Tapas Pal never had to look back. In a few years he became a superstar in the Bengali film media. He acted in many other superhit movies such as "Bhalobasha Bhalobasha" and "Guru Dakshina". First movie of Madhuri Dixit was with Tapas Pal in the movie "Abodh". He acted in some T.V serials also. Tapas Pal acted in more than 300 movies in his 26-year successful film career.
