[edit] FIFA World Cup Format

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article FIFA World Cup Format, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 02:54, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Addition of "Standings" to World Cup articles

Hi. Thank you for adding sections entitled "World Cup xxxx Standings" to all the world cup articles. Unfortunately these additions (which as far as I can see were not discussed prior to your making them) contravene our policy against original research. Only the first, second, third and fourth places have any official status and to imply otherwise is misleading and unencyclopedic. I have therefore removed these sections. I hope you will understand why I did this. If you disagree, I suggest you discuss at Talk:FIFA World Cup and try to establish a consensus for your edits. Best wishes, --Guinnog 20:38, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
