Tania Eshaghoff

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tania Eshaghoff, born 1974 in Tehran, Iran, is a contemporary pianist and musical performer. Tania Eshaghoff's family fled the politically unstable country during the rise of the Islamic Revolution. Her music is inspired by the Iranian culture and exhibits great Persian melodic influence while equally displaying a degree of Western styles.

She has this to say about Persian music:

"At such a young age it was the simplicity of Persian music that attracted me. The melody and sound is so strong that it can stand-alone. It does not need the accessories nor a decorative back beat. It is pure, emotional, yet strong and unique in its interpretation."
