Tangail Sadar is located at 24.2500° N 89.9167° E . It has 69783 units of house hold and total area 334.26 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Tangail Sadar has a population of 380518. Males constitute are 51.05% of the population, and females 48.95%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 196849.
