[edit] hungarian writers historic places in Budapest

You've recently edited the Hungarian literature article. As the title of this new section doesn't really make sense (at least in English), and I'm not sure that this topic should belong to the Hungarian literature article, if you cannot justify it, I'll revert the edit. Lelkesa 13:43, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your attention. This places and some 1-3 others are important in hungarian literature 20th century and topic can be extended. The subtitle is not the best. ..... t.sz.

Sorry, but I've reverted your edits. Your work is not lost, you can see it at the history of the page. The topic you began to work on is important. However, I suppose it should belong to one of the articles related to Budapest or a new article should be created, as this article mainly focuses on the history of Hungarian literature, and is not about some important places in Budapest. Lelkesa 15:24, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Hallo Ádám! My intention: in the Hungarian literature (around "Nyugat", New York Cafe, ...) are some very unique places in Budapest to document for someone intersted in "Hungarian literature". Writers lived in winter (heating costs) mostly in special locations. Meeting together here war important for the Works! ... and many Hungarian writer was "local-patriots", coined to near Neighbourhoods Márai, Kosztolányi, ..! Can you help me to place this idea on the right way? Tamas Szabo 17:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Translation into English

Hello Tamas, your requests for help with translation from Hungarian may be actually placed at Wikipedia:Translation. There's also a Wikipedia project for quick accidental translations, that's where the {{translate}} template refers to. I've put Danube Promenade up at Pages needed translation as this work of yours looks almost done, but whole articles brought from another language wikipedias should not go there, really. So translation of Krisztina Téri Iskolam, for example, will be best requested at Wikipedia:Translation. Best wishes - Introvert • ~ 10:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for help! I need time for orientation. Big surprise: My first, for me very important page Naphegy (whole article) was yesterday translated by an professional translator only in 1-2 days! Thank User:Alensha. - Tamas Szabo 10:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome. I'm very glad to hear that User:Alensha has worked on translation, she's a very experienced editor and must've done a great job. Congratulations! I don't want to interfere with your work but just thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea to just ask Alensha directly if she is available for help with the rest of your material? And certainly, take your time for settling comfortably. Happy editing! - Introvert • ~ 20:28, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jacob Steiner

Tamas, thanks for all of the good work you're doing. I noticed you've added links to the Jacob Steiner page from several other pages like Taste, Olfaction, and Electrophysiology. Steiner certainly is a major contributor to some of these fields, but I think it is probably a inappopriate link. One could list a dozen more seminal figures in Taste and Olfaction, and easily hundreds in Electrophysiology. It isn't appropriate to hightlight just one guy. SJS1971 13:54, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your attention. I have you undrestand. I need time for orientation, only a few days in Wikipedia. Tamas Szabo 13:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

No problem! Keep contributing, that's great. SJS1971

[edit] License tagging for Image:Wallenberg-Minerva-u.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wallenberg-Minerva-u.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:06, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Margitsziget-1905-Meyers-Lexikon3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Margitsziget-1905-Meyers-Lexikon3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:08, 30 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 00:08, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Image:Margitsziget-1905-Meyers-Lexikon3.jpg as you can see the source is in the name Meyers Lexikon 1905 this is > 100 years old. Tamas Szabo 07:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Margitsziget-1905-Meyers-Lexikon3.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Margitsziget-1905-Meyers-Lexikon3.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey 12:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Since You didn't create that map, but copied it from Mayers Lexikon then the licence was wrong. Please pick a correct one, Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tag page should help You in choosing. Best, feydey 12:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

ADDED FOLLOWING TO WALLENBERG DICUSSION PAGE:
I will be happy to review and edit the text for English. If you live in Budapest suggest bringing the Holocaust Museum's attention to this episode - and maybe also contacting the House of Terror (although people I trust in/from Hungary tell me it is very political).
Many historians write that Stalin was planning a major early 1953 initiative against Jews, preceded by execution of Jewish writers in the USSR, execution of Michoels (?) and purges of others from the war time Jewish Anti-Fascist League, purge/execution of the Czechoslovak party leadership - many of whom were Jews, purge in Hungary (Rakosi arresting Peter Gabor (?) head of AVO/AVH) etc. Shortly before Stalin's death there were plans for the "Doctors' Trial". It is said that the plan was to find them guilty (as in other show trials), publicly execute them, perhaps on Red Square - unprecedented in the USSR and the Soviet colonies (e.g. Hungary) - and then "protect the Jews" from "righteous indignation of the proletariat" by transfer to Siberia to open shacks ... some feel the plan included the transports attacked by the "indignant proletariat" and many Jews killed en route. The Gulag and -40 Celsius cold can kill as easily as Zyklon gas!
Stalin collapsed March 1 1953 shortly before the supposed massive deportation plan could be launched - and died few days later (March 5). Curiously, March 1, 1953 was the Jewish holiday Purim, to remember that long ago another potential mass murderer of Jews, Haman, was killed just before he could carry out his plan. The plans to center a fake show trial in Budapest around Raoul Wallenberg, the rescuer of Jews, fits well into Stalin's and the Soviet system's plans at the time and Stalin's macabre humor. It is curious that a man like Wallenberg could stand up against the Nazis and many murderous Hungarian Fascists, and antisemites in the army, police and in the population, but apparently there were no Wallenbergs to rescue people from the Communists. [edit] Shoes on the Danube

Thanks for answering the questions, I hope the text as I've edited it reflects what you intend to be in the article. It's been quite interesting reading this as it is a chapter of history that is fuzzy for me. Please let me know if you feel the edits have made the article worse and I'll try to remember to put the questions on the discussion page next time! -Yupik 08:41, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Looking good

It's been quite interesting following how your pages are developing! Thanks for doing such an important job! -Yupik 06:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
