Taman OUG
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Taman OUG or OUG Garden is a main township in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Situated mainly atop a hill, this township is located in Jalan Kelang Lama and was opened in the middle 1970s. OUG stands for Overseas Union Group.
[edit] Places of interest
OUG is home to the first Steven's Corner mamak restaurant (formerly known as Sri Komalah Restaurant). Every night beginning from 7pm onwards, you will see the whole area coming to life and many people, particularly teenagers, can be seen hanging out at this iconic place. Just down the hill lies Plaza OUG (also known formerly by the name of Plaza Kimisawa). It has undergone through a few ownerships and modifications, with the most recent one being Parkson Grand.
[edit] Recent developments
As of 2006, a new road connecting OUG to Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling has been opened, after years of having the project delayed. This new stretch of road now shaves off at least 10-15 minutes of travelling time. In the past, to get to either Sri Petaling or Bukit Jalil, one needs to pass through the neighbouring Happy Garden.
