Tama-Plaza Station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tama-Plaza Station (たまプラーザ駅 Tama Purāza eki?) is located on the Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line in Yokohama, Japan. It is 19 minutes (on the Express train) from the Shibuya Station in Tokyo. Tama-Plaza (affectionately referred to as 'TP' by foreigners) is sandwiched between Saginuma, located in Kawasaki on one side, and Azamino, located in Yokohama on the other. In most respects Tama-Plaza is quite the opposite to the cool urban chic of Shibuya. It is a somewhat up-market commuter station (known as a 'bed-town') serving the Tokyo/Yokohama megalopolis. It is noted for its relatively spacious expensive houses and the Tokyu department store, which caters to the suburban spic and span clean feel. Convenient in terms of location, this pleasant area is an ideal place that enables residents to be extremely close to Tokyo, without the pollution, crowds and noise.

Also home to the popular chain themed restaurant "Monsoon Cafe".
