Talisman The Adventure
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Talisman The Adventure is a 1986 expansion to the Talisman board game, both produced by Games Workshop[1]. The Adventure requires the original Second Edition board game. This expansion is incompatible with and has no counterpart for the Third Edition. Like Talisman, The Adventure is no longer published.
This expansion includes 60 additional cards including new Adventure cards, spells, new character cards and alternate endings. The Adventure also comes with six character record sheets with which to organize character's attributes, followers and objects.
The new Character cards included with The Adventure:
The alternate endings are probably the biggest change in this expansion. No longer can the character only reach the Crown of Command at the end of the game, but he/she may instead encounter:
- Demon Lord: a powerful demonic being with Craft 12 and 4 Lives
- Pandora's Box: the character draws Adventure and spell cards to be used against his or her foes
- Hercules' Belt: a powerful artifact which gives the character 12 Strength and 5 lives
- Dragon King: a randomized finale with many possibilities
- The Horrible Black Void: the character is sucked into the emptiness and dies instantly. If playing with the Talisman Timescape, the character is transferred there instead.
- Crown of Command: same as in the original version
Once one of the above endings is reached, if the game does not end, it is replaced with a new random ending.
