IMDb profile

Tali-Ihantala 1944 is a film directed by Åke Lindman, based on the Battle of Tali-Ihantala. The filming began during the summer of 2006 and is scheduled for screening in the fall of 2007. Åke Lindman himself hopes the film can be as real as possible, and only include facts. He also wants Finns to remember the sacrifices the soldiers made in those battles.

The film got €350 000 production support from the Finnish Film Foundation. The organization created to raise money for the movie is led by Admiral Jan Klenberg and is protected by the former Finnish President Mauno Koivisto.

The movie uses a wide array of genuine wartime vehicles, and when not possible, replicas are used. One interesting feature is the use of a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 replica, made by the German company Flug Werk.[1] During the shooting of the movie, the aircraft was marked similarly as Oberst Erich Rudorffer's aircraft in 1944.
