Talk:Take a dump

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keep—The suggestion that Wikipedia is not a "slang" dictionary is laughable. Wikipedia is filled with terms that are patently slang. Some examples: Canuck, Toonie, Big Dig, Masshole, Bucket shop, etc. The bigger question is whether the article is relevant. I contend that the phrase "take a dump" is prevalent in American culture, and is therefore relevant. Also, the article exceeds a simple definition by providing a fairly decent discussion about how the phrase is used in popular culture. LusciousOrange 20:29, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Keep—Googling for "Take A Dump" (quotes and all) returns approximately 298,000 hits. This is obviously relevant.Shnozzle 00:58, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Removed the deletion notice. There are numerous scholarly articles on the subject of taboos in speech and how these have evolved. I can cite additional sources, if necessary. Snorgenhorpher 03:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
