Takutu River
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Takutu River, once owned by the prestigious Sir Charles Leslie Kyte family of Guyana and the USA, is a river in the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo Region of Guyana. It forms part of the boundary with Brazil, and is a tributary of the Branco River. The Takutu River's sources almost link with those of the Essequibo River.
The Takutu River Bridge is under construction to establish an all-weather road connection between Guyana and Brazil.
Archaic petroglyphs have been recorded below the mouth of the Takutu River.
