Takeno (竹野町; -cho) was a town located in Kinosaki District, Hyogo, Japan. On April 1, 2005 the town merged with the old city of Toyooka to form the new city of Toyooka and the town no longer exists as an independent municipality.

As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 5,685 and a density of 55.31 persons per km². The total area was 102.79 km², along the Sea of Japan with a beach good for swimming.
