Taiston Tie - The Battle Path was the first release by the Finnish power metal band Turisas, originally recorded under the name Köyliö. It was recorded live through a Roland 8-track mixer at their rehearsal room, it was eventually copied over to cassettes and handed out to friends and family of the band. Turisas had no base player at the time of this recording so there is no bass part at all on this recording.
Taiston Tie shares the same theme as Rex Regi Rebellis (Battle Metal, 2004) - The Thirty Years War. It was the first version of the idea, event though the two songs are completely differant musically.
The original title for "Rae" was changed from "Jää-kristalli-ihmemies-McGyver" right before the covers were printed, because the band thought the name was "silly." [1]
