Taiji Sawada (沢田 泰司 Sawada Taiji) (Born on 12. July 1966) was the bass guitar player of the popular Speed Metal Japanese Rock band X.

Throughout his career Taiji has worked with bands such as X , Loudness, Cloud Nine, and most recently (as of 2004) is playing in a band called Otokaze, with his sister.

After his departure from X in late 1992, Taiji had a lot of money troubles and as he stated in his autobiography; it was "a very dark time" for him, often leaving him with nothing but his motorbike.

He is currently working on the revival of his band D.T.R, which will be performing once again August 29, 2006. He is also working on a side project, GEN&TAIJI, with Gentaro of Otokaze.
