[edit] Request for use of one of your photos

Hi Tagishsimon,

I work for Publications at Brunel University and I am currently putting together a course leaflet for an Master's course in Security and Intelligence Studies. We would love to be able to use you photo of the MI6 building on the front page, and I was wondering whether you would give your consent for this usage? I will, of course, include a credit for you within the leaflet.

If so, would you have a high resolution image that you could forward to me?

If you could contact me at jo.dooher@brunel.ac.uk, I would be very grateful!

Many thanks and kind regards,

Jo

[edit] Overgrown stubs

Hi Tagishsimon,

If it was up to me I'd run the cleanup projects back to back and try to clean out as many stubs as possible. Unfortunately I can only run the cleanup project every time a new database dump becomes available and this time its been over a month. Oh well; I'll have the new cleanup project set up just a few days after the next database dump becomes available. Thanks for your support though =) Triddle 18:33, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] I Need your help on 'Move Tsushima Islands' Issue

Hi! You appear to be an QUALIFIED interested disinterested bystander... I'm just making the rounds to everyone that has made their mark on Tsushima Islands which lead me to Fg2, (thence to then YOU! Congrats! Booby Prize, but I badly need some responsible People to help me mediate therein that are familiar with things Japanese... errr English! Sorry, but I infer that's still YOU!) in the last month trying to mediate this flaming revert war — I can use your help — Bring lots O water! (Better yet Beer) Frank

This is the message I've been dropping on anyone on the Talk or Article pages since 13 May, I'd appreciate it if you can familarize yourself on the small article and stand-by to jump in on Tuesday with some cogent watersprays from a logical firehose! Thanks for the trouble -- the issue is trivial, (Is proper name plural or singular, Forsooth!) save there seem to be at least two teens in a war going well over three hundred edits in this one month sampling interval, over 70 edits in the past three days.
  • I would appreciate a rational explaination (after you read my Comments in the subject dispute Talk:Tsushima Islands), of the arguement or arguments you consider vital and germane to the discusion and vote. Frankly, MOST all of you are being silly over nothing of particular importance, since both names can be redirected into the one used. I have left a comment concerning my contribution to the article, which contribution — seems to have triggered the current edit and revision wars. For that I apologize, but see the Comments on the vote. I am also taking the liberty of putting the vote section AFTER the Comments about same.
  • Still, I have just spent over four hours of valuable spare time, and would welcome your thoughts after you read and understand the distinction I put forth between a governments termonology as a governing body and a geographical reference like an archepelego, which it certainly is.
  • More to the point, I'd like to see your defense regarding your favorite POV of what I had to say viz a viz the mergest attitude of the senior editors and administrators that frequent the Wikipedia:VfD discussions. To my recollection, I don't recollect any of you hotheads in this dispute ever spending anytime thereon, possibly excepting Mel Etitis, but rarely even then.
  • In any event, I'm neutral here, and have asked that the article be kept EDIT FREE for the next three days by placing The Inuse template into it — I'd copyedited over two and half hours before I suspended that effort the other night because this shameful fued was going on — proper English grammer does depend, unfortunately, on whether one uses the plural or the singular. I saved that on my hard drive, but I don't need to wade through yet another 70 edits to finish the job. As it is, this matter will probably double the time it takes for such a simple job.
  • If you are local to Japan, some history of the canals or Sea-channel is certainly germane to the ongoing discussion, moreover, any cogent arguement you condsider being particularly telling needs to be clearly repeated in the current on going comments if you want them counted on in the vote.
  • I will make sure this message goes to each contributor to the article the past month, so you are not being singled out. Now is the time to take a deep breath, for rational concise summaries, not all the arguing that is so wearisome in 66 printed pages - half a novelette, I'd guess! It's certainly a lot to ask your fellow editors to wade through on a minor issue.
  • I will also personally be making sure that at least a dozen other Administrators I'm acquainted with take a look at the debate after the time below. I will in fact ask for twenty commitments, so be clear and respectful of our time!!!
  • Thankyou for your time, attention, and good professional behaviour. I'll check the Talk state again no sooner than Monday around Noon (UTC), And ask the uninvolved others to do the same. PLEASE BE CONCISE. [[User:Fabartus| FrankB || TalktoMe]] 03:27, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[[User:Fabartus| FrankB || TalktoMe]] 03:27, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Well that's my heads up, and appeal -- Hope you can help. I really don't have a dog in this fight! If you can alert a few others qualified on matters Japanese, or distinguishing English plurals from singulars, (sort of, sad to say) by all means, please do so!

[edit] Milestone statistics

Have a look at the discussion on the milestone page. User:Dcljr pretty much says what I would've said. 600.000 is simply not the next logical milestone. Oh, and the 1, 2, 5 pattern wasn't accidental, it was done on purpose. --Conti| 18:56, Jun 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Rohingya

I also have asked the original contributors to the page to remove the copyvio text, and rewrite the article. I have started Rohingya/Temp as a substitute, and would put the copyvio tag on the original article once I have enough content on the Temp page. Please take a look at Rohingya/Temp to see the proposed structure. The current contributors to the original page are quite hostile, and took part in 15 straight vandalism of the talk page and added obscene slurs there. Anyway, see the temp page and if possible change it. Thanks. --Ragib 22:51, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Furling.jpg copyvio

looks like fair use to me. i've looked at Wikipedia:Fair use and went down the list of questions, it's from a sail training organisation (#9 The image and source (if known) suggest it is intended for wide distribution (such as promotional images) and being used in an article about sail training (#10 placed in a relevant article and no larger than required for the web based article).

i'm new here so i might be wrong on this but don't you think that Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#Unfree_Images such as PUIdisputed might of been a more diplomatic way of initiating this conversation?

  • have received permission for use from copyright holders, please advise as next step. -Seasee 17:20, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] little help

i've contacted the copyright holder and waiting to hear back from them.

i'm still new here so i'm a little confused about the proper procedure here, i've left messages on Talk:Furling.jpg which is advised on the template and on Image talk:Furling.jpg where i found your comment directing me to WP:PUI where i couldn't find a listing for it. finally after i discovered the message you left me on my talk did i try you here. where is the proper fourm to discuss this because i can't see how our conversation via our talk personal talk pages is going to resolve this issue. Seasee 20:37, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] navclass, alanvilliers

ok. the navclass is mine, i'll send you the raw file if you like. i'm using the fair use to protect the kids from improper use as i don't have a model release for them but guided discoveries does. if i have to, i'll change it to gfdl.

as for the alanvilliers image from the parma, it's not pd because he only died in 1982 and it's not listed in the National Maritime Museum catalog of images they own. i couldn't find specific use of nmm images in either wiki or nmm regarding non-commercial educational use so i chose that one. can you advise? -Seasee

[edit] Wikipedia:Auto-categorization/Wikipedia namespace

[edit] Red link recovery project

Howdy, Topbanana here, back after an extended absence. I've decided to round up a few of my more useful reports into a project with the goal of converting as many "red links" (links to non-existant articles) into "blue links" (links to real articles). As you've been active in fixing similar things in the past, I thought I'd let you know in case you're interested in joining up. If not, I won't be offended - we've all got lots todo here :) - TB 11:39, 2005 Jun 23 (UTC)

[edit] Double redirects

Hi Tagish,

I've run the basic logic of my double redirect finder over my friends and we can't find an error in it. I also have looked and I can't find any bugs in my program. Can you show me an example of a false positive that is not related to a fix that someone else has performed since the last snapshot of the english wikipedia. The last snapshot was on May 16, 2005. If you can show me an example I should be able to track down what went wrong. By the way, I've moved the discussion to the talk page for the cleanup project: User talk:Triddle/double redirect. Thanks for the feed back by the way; I like to make sure my code works well. Triddle 21:51, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Hi - I made a list of users who've been around long enough to have made lots of edits but aren't admins. If you're at all interested in becoming an admin, can you please add an '*' immediately before your name in this list? I've suggested folks nominating someone might want to puruse this list, although there is certainly no guarantee anyone will ever look at it. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 17:31, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)

just noticed your fingerprints on my userpage while i was cleaning up some unintentional [en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Seasee&oldid=17694437 vandalism]...good eye, thanks for the spellcheck. was hoping to ask you for some advice and or support on a couple of projects i'm working on.

first of all, i've put sail training up for peer review and was wondering what you thought.

secondly, i've run into a little difficulty with another editor regarding the director John Milius and was hoping to get a third party opinion on whether or not it is npov. i don't really think the image is npov either but i guess it's pd (it's untagged)

anyway, thanks again. Seasee 28 June 2005 04:37 (UTC)

[edit] Jaggery Image

Hi! I'm sorry for taking so long to get back to you regarding the jaggery picture. The picture was taken by me in a recent trip to India (September 2004 to be exact). The picture was taken on the highway from Bangalore to Mysore in the southern state of Karnataka. Please let me know if you need any other specific information.

The consensus of those that have commented on your Jaggery-maker pic is that it's highly professional. So professional in fact that it should be either a) nominated as a featured image or b) considered suspect for copywright reasons. Please consider visiting Wikipedia:Template messages/Image namespace and chosing one of the copywright templates to add to your image's page (as well as adding some assertion that it's yours :)
Thanks for contributing such a wonderful photo. — Clarknova 04:56, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

thanks...mostly liked the edit as i was still playing with the first line and i prefer the way "antecedents" flows and like the separation "contemporary" adds. i struck the "nowadays" as the point i was trying to get across was that it was and still is an unconventional and effective way of building many useful skills. -Seasee 4 July 2005 23:09 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Image:John Hampden - Project Gutenberg eBook 11921.jpg, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, take a look at our Five Pillars. Happy editing! . [edit] Untagged images

Wikipedia:Untagged images is almost done, but its last run was in February sometime; so I guess we'll have gathered a few thousand more untagged images. I'm not sure who did the last SQL for this & don't think it was published. Would you fancy taking over the task of generating the lists ... from first principles? I guess we're looking for all images without tags listed here. --Tagishsimon (talk)

No problem there. I should be able to get that done tomorrow. However the initial report will not be with out problems: I still haven't figured out why some articles don't link right and there will probably be some false negatives but there shouldn't be any false positives. I have another plan that will be 100% accurate (unless something changes since the snapshot is taken of course) but that will take quite a while to implement. Additionally I will be able to provide a new report every time a snapshot comes out. Would you like the report to be the same format that I use on stubsensor? Triddle July 5, 2005 08:45 (UTC)
I may have gone off half-cocked - Redworlf is talking [1] about doing the report. Though for my money, I'd be happy if you did, since Redwolf is not saying magic things like "tomorrow". But I should give you the option of declining rather than keep you in ignorance of RW's offer. I think a stubsensor layout would be preferable, yes. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)
Meanwhile it occurs to me that a list of articles without categories would be handy. If huge. --Tagishsimon (talk)
Indeed! I thought about that one too but thats quite difficult to do right. However doing the missing image tags right and doing missing article categories right would be nearly identical so once I got one the other would come quickly. Triddle July 5, 2005 17:53 (UTC)

[edit] wiki commons/sail training

i thought an encylopedia's objective was "to teach"? admittedly i am going off on a bit of a tangent but it seems tall ship is more of a list than an article and i wanted to fill out sail training per your advice. i'll try to hack it down some more. not really familiar with wiki commons, will check it out though. thanks again. -Seasee 5 July 2005 18:51 (UTC)

[edit] About the NUMBEROFARTICLES on the missing period project

I was the first one to implement the NUMBEROFARTICLES (as far as I know) on the Punctuation project. Even if the current project will end at 627k (even if there are 1,713,518 articles, which is less than 627k...), aren't we planning to continue doing this sso we can make Wikipedia a better place? Sure, this will 'end', but we will eventually do a new scan, and have new projects and soon cover all the articles. In addition to that, there's almost thousand less articles on Wikipedia than 627k... Which comes to a conclusion that dividing the 'done' by the 627k rather gives us a lower completion rate than the actual number. How do we divide by 627k when the articles aren't even there yet? Anyway, just my comments. Feel free to respond on my talk page. thanks > -- WB July 8, 2005 12:07 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the tip on the image links. I wondered how to do that—post a link to an image without actually showing the image. I can always use little-known tips like that. I find the Wikipedia help to be a little difficult to use. Sometimes it's hard to find just the info that you want. DanMS 21:34, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Use of an image

I'm asking permission to use one of your images on my web site:

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze24wqa/

Basically, the novel "Angels, Twice Descending" mentions MI-6 headquarters and I wanted to have an image gallery of the places and people it deals with (somewhat like the one for "The Mills of God").

I guess this constitutes commercial use since it promotes what (I hope) will be a published book.

If you grant permission, I'll give proper attribution. Otherwise, I won't use the image.

Thank you!

[edit] Service Areas

I do not understand why you chose such a hostile tone on my user page. In any case, the point I make about stubs seems to be completely misunderstood, so I shall reiterate it. Take the example of phoneboxes - I know there is one phonebox in the Welsh Mountains which has been decorated with flowers, carpets and is cleaned daily. It is of note to the locals and is known more widely as it has been inclued on TV programmes and in Sunday newspapers. This is arguably comment-worthy- and worthy of a note in an encyclopedia. I would support a wikipedia article about such a phonebox - however - I would NOT support the creation of stub articles for each and every phonebox in the UK, along with catagory articles "Phoneboxes in Leeds", "Phoneboxes in Birmingham", "Phoneboxes in North London". Hopefully this illustrates my point well enough. Leonig Mig 09:42, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

I find your tone hostile again. All I have done is politely explain my point of view to the administrator and then, upon a challenge to yourself. I consider the matter closed. Have a pleasant day. Leonig Mig 13:29, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
I don't understand this hostility. Please remove the swearing from my page or I shall remove it myself. Thank you. Leonig Mig 09:17, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WA Cambridge

Its copied from West Anglia Main Line and other similar pages. I assume the editor chose that width as it causes limited wrap and is perfectly reasonable. There is hardly a wealth of text to obscure on any of the pages it appears on. Please do not use the phrase "WTF" again or I will be very offended. Mrsteviec 13:19, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

They are not wider than they are supposed to be. They were exactly the correct width IMHO and the opinion of other editors who created boxes in the same style and size. It is only you who thinks they are not. More importantly the way you have approached me on this issue is unacceptably rude and aggressive. You leave no room for compromise. I can only assume you are an argumentative, unreasonable pedant and conversation with you is pointless. Do not order me to do things, swear at me or speak to me in this way again.Mrsteviec 13:42, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
I also eat babies. --Tagishsimon (talk)

The changes you are making causes the text (when bold) to wrap on certain pages. Cambridge Heath railway station for example. Please make sure your changes take this in to account and cause no text wrapping on any of the pages they are used on. Should this prove difficult I suggest you revert to the original as this did not cause this problem. Mrsteviec 14:16, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

"WA Chingford" wraps on Walthamstow Central (even when not bold now). "WA Cambridge" wraps on Northumberland Park (even when not bold now). "WA Enfield Town" wraps on Cambridge Heath but only when in bold. Mrsteviec 14:29, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
"WA Chingford" wraps on Walthamstow Central (but only when bold now). "WA Cambridge" wraps on Northumberland Park (but only when bold now). Almost there. Mrsteviec 14:41, 17 July 2005 (UTC).
"WA Chingford" still wraps on Walthamstow Central (when bold). I use mozilla / IE6 SP2 and Cologne Blue skin. Mrsteviec 15:11, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] A photo I myself have taken

Greetings :) I am a real newbie to wikipedia, so if this has been discussed and displayed ad nauseum, please forgive me. I have several photographs I have taken of a public figure listed in wikipedia, and I noticed the entry has no photographs. Would I just copywrite it this year in my legal name, or in the year the photo was taken? Is there a step by step tutorial for a situation like this? There are actually many photos to use on other websites on the internet, but it seems it would be complicated to get permission in a form that is accepted by the wikipedia image upload staff (but if you consider this an easier route than uploading and copywriting my own photographs I took as an amateur photographer, please let me know) Thanks :)

Dear Tagishsimon,

I am very curious about the portrait of Wordsworth you've uploaded. I work for the Wordsworth Trust, and we have a very similar print of this but no record of an original - I noticed that this image has a signature and so must be an original.

If you have any idea of where you sourced this picture, or where I could look for other information on it, it would be a great help. All best,

Hello, mate. You've listed this page for speedy deletion, with the comment, "Redundant Wikipedia:Untagged images project page." I was wondering what in Wikipedia:Untagged images you thought this was redundant with. I thought maybe you misunderstood what the reason for this page was: it's to store a list of all untagged images beginning with "Q." It's now empty, because I took care of all the "Q" images, but will eventually be repopulated and probably should be kept until the project is done, anyway. [edit] special interest cruft

G'day Tagshimon,

I notice you recently removed a {{globalize}} tag from the article Electrical engineering with the edit summary "We do not need special interest cruft on the article page." I was wondering if you could tell me what "special interest cruft" means, and why you think the phrase was appropriate in this instance? Cheers, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 18:41, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Cruft is an unpleasant redundant thing. Yes, I'm happy with the phrase and think it accurate and succint. --Tagishsimon (talk).
I'm still unclear on what, exactly, "special interest cruft" is? fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 15:59, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Oh my God

...you've uploaded over 400 images! Have you sussed out commons yet?! :) --pfctdayelise 18:06, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Apparently it would violate the GFDL to simply dump en's free images at commons, because it "destroys" the history. Although I guess it should be fine for images that haven't had any changes at all (and there must be surely quite a few)... I dunno. I think we're waiting for a magic software solution. pfctdayelise 18:14, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] commons:image:South Kensington station.jpg

Tagishsimon, please could you provide a suitable license on this photograph that you took and uploaded. If you don't then unfortunately it will have to be deleted. Thryduulf 15:57, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

  1. Thanks for doing that so quickly. Its easy to upload to commons without selecting a license as you can choose "none selected" - this is to allow people like me to use custom templates. The "latest files" selection covers only about an hour and a half, so files do slip through the net. Thryduulf 17:35, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

So is this how I'm supposed to reply then? :)

Yes, got home OK - although it involved a fair bit of squinting and driving at 10mph. Enjoyed the ride very much ta.

I'll move the images at some point, ta.

[edit] Moving images to commons

So I uploaded those images to commons - I'm being a dumbass about what I do with the old ones - do they have to go through the whole article deletion process?

[edit] Untagged images

Am I right in thinking all of the 3,218 images in todays first batch are also found in the second 38,318 batch? I've spotted some repeats. If so, we should withdraw the 3,218, non? --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit] Image deletion

Hi Tagishsimon,

An image you uploaded to Wikipedia, Image:John Forrest - Project Gutenberg eBook 9958.jpg is now on Commons as Image:John Forrest 1875.jpg. Would you mind if I deleted the Wikipedia version? Snottygobble | Talk 01:04, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Empty image description pages versus Commons images

I'm not sure what's going on: are we saying that we have image description pages which are not linked to an image? How odd. If so, is another approach to recognise that condition within a script? --Tagishsimon (talk)
I think that is the case, yes. It's certainly technically possible to either check to see if the image page exists with no local image, or if a licenced copy exists on Commons, though it would be a bit of effort. The question is, though, is this an acceptable situation, or should we tell people to do something to fix it? (Like delete the local description page?) If these pages do need to be fixed, then it seems OK to leave them mixed in. If they are OK as they are, I'll need to code some more. -- Beland 02:41, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Your images

Yeah. Probably I'll do it in few days. Thanks --Oblivious 13:55, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GB railway stations

Hi. I’ve just posted a request for comments at Talk:Nottingham station regarding the “service information boxes” in GB railway station articles. I’m not sure who the first begetter of these boxes was, but as I noticed you are a frequent contributor on rail-related topics I thought you might care to take a look. --Picapica 22:43, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revival of Image sleuthing

I would love to see a revival of Image sleuthing, and knowing that you were once a major contributor and still check it every now and then, was wondering if you would help to finish off the images currently in the que so we can move on and raise awareness about it. Thanks for everything you've done so far! Nrbelex (talk) 03:32, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello,

Thanks for your mesage. If you click on http://www.vitabooks.com you will see that you can click 'authors' on the left of the page followed by 'books' and then you will see Spy In the Vatican. Spy In the vatican is also mentioned in some of the articles and that period of his life is also mentioned in the CV on vitabooks.

[edit] Joan of Arc

Thank you for your contribution to the page. The editors split this information to a separate page at Joan of Arc bibliography. I've removed your link because the bibliography page already links to the Project Gutenberg e-text. Please feel welcome to contribute any relevant material there. The bibliography page welcomes biographies and relevant history works about the Hundred Years' War, late Medieval warfare, and similar subjects. Regards, Durova 16:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edward II Pun in Discussion on Richard II

Did you notice the pun in my discussion page of Richard II where I said, "Apparently, even a king like Edward II discovered, in the end, (no pun intended) that there were limits, in terms of acceptance by the magnates, to what even he, a king, could do." Get it? "In the end?" SimonATL 03:33, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

I've pointed out some errors in the 'Morpeth Rail Crash' article :) . Certainly no fatalities in the 84 crash, I don't think there were any in the 77 crash either.

Sorry if I was badgering you :) . I remember the 84 crash very well - the impact (our house seemed to jump a foot in the air), the scene - turf inside the carriages, letting people out who couldn't reach the doors (some carriages were on their sides so doors were above them and out of reach) burglar alarm on the demolished house going off (a fireman finally smashed it with a sledgehammer), the aftermath - BR brought steam cranes along to lift carriages and repair track. Various people whose houses backed onto the line had (presumably ilicitly) put gates in their fences and used the embankment to grow vegetables, so they let neighbours in to watch repairs. Atmosphere was like a street party. Only injury I heard of was to a sleeping car attendant who tried to crawl out and got stuck. Testament to strength of carriages.

Don't remember 77 crash at all, so possibly quite minor?

[edit] Hi again

Hi Tagishsimon, have registered as you suggested! Not sure how 'reminiscences of crash' would fit in, but if you can think of a way do let me know. Have piece of original rail, too. Any offers on Morpeth curve?

[edit] Yo

Ok! Am trying to learn 'risk aversion' so can improve maths on that entry, but will have a look at the things you suggest.

[edit] Possible OrphanBot False Positive

OrphanBot inserted a "no Source" message into User talk:Billreid re: Image:Steam Drifter2.jpg. That image already had pre-existing {{PD-old}} & should not have been picked up. Thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)

OrphanBot is correct. The image needs source information (who created it, when, and when it was published) in order to verify that the {{PD-old}} tag is correct. --Carnildo 01:13, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deprod of Terence Rudolph

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Terence Rudolph, which you proposed for deletion. I am leaving this message here to notify you about it. This guy has actually published a lot for a new faculty member. I didn't look into it thoroughly, but he might meet the WP:PROFTEST proposed guidelines. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it. Instead, feel free to list the article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! [edit] Picture of Andrew Browne Cunningham

Hi, I am translating the article about ABC to Norwegian. Alas, the picture is not uploaded to Wikipedia Commons. Could you do so, or direct me to it...? Have tried to search Commons for a pic of him but have not found any such picture. Ulflarsen 11:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys reference

Hi. I was looking down the Simpson Neologisms page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Made-up_words_in_The_Simpsons)and noticed that the Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys quote was attributed to a UK '80s phrase there, while it was considered to be a 1995 phrase from the writer Ken Keeler in another Wikki section (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheese-eating_surrender_monkeys). I amended the second to cross-refer to the first rather than destroy the first, so that no data would be lost - please examine and amend as you wish.

Thanks for your detailed exlanation of "entoleted" I am much the wiser now. After having it going round in my head for 12 hours I thought I had derived a partial explanation i.e. ento-leted........bugs-removed, probably by sifting I surmised.

Regards, Bill

[edit] Lossie

hi, wasn't aware of doing anything to blank out talk page but thanks for sorting it out. Re the image, I produced the image in excel, exported it to Coreldraw, saved it in .svg format and uploaded it. The data is census data in public domain. If its removed I'll try again. Thanks for letting me know. Billreid 16:48, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
