Unfortunately, I haven't travelled the trail further than Merthyr, and I don't fancy just "researching" that info from other websites, so I'll leave it for people who have first-hand experience to flesh out that part.

Sustrans have excellent maps for all the cycle routes in the UK. You can buy them at the old Stationary Offices and on their web site.

I rode the Taff Trail this week, took a train from Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil and then the X43 bus to Brecon. Arriva Trains and 60 60 Coaches were excellent. If you have the Sustrans map it is very easy to navigate. The trail is not that well signposted and the map is a good reference. The hard part is the section from Talybont Reservoir through the forestry the rest is very easy. I did the route in 4 hours flat the ride is fantastic.
