T.Rajendar or Vijaya T.Rajendar(popularily known as TR or KARADI by his fans) is a Tamil movie director, actor, singer, music composer, screenplay writer, dialogue writer and editor. His wife Usha Rajendar takes care of residual roles in his films like film producer, costume design etc. His son Simbhu who is a famous Tamil actor normally acts in his movies, from childhood, but the trend now seems to changing with him concentrating on his own production and direction. His movies include extensive sets, dialogues that are very "sharp" (often called "punch dialogues") and characters who are very unlikey to be found real life, yet very memorable. He is also well known for his rhetoric Tamil sequence of words. The characters in his movies usually have names that speak well of their roles in the movie, eg : Salt Kotta Sarasu, Rousu Rani. Many in India, especially the people of Tamil Nadu State consider his movies to be of cult status much like those of the Hollywood director Ed Wood.

He joined Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam during ex-chief minister M.G.Ramachandran Era. Those times normally film personalities shy away from joining Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam due to M.G.Ramachandran's influence over film industry.He left from DMK during 1991 and started Thayaka Munnetra Kazhakam]. His house was attacked by DMK volunteers when he started supporting Jayalalitha. In 1996, he came back to DMK and contested in Parktown constituency and won. He terribly lost 2001 assembly elections from Parktown constituency.
In 2004, he again left DMK and started new party called All India Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam[1]and started supporting Jayalalitha. He told in his rhetoric Tamil language "Alli Koduppa Amma, Killi Kooda kodukka mattar Karunanidhi" which meant that Jayalalitha will offer magananimously and DMK Chief Karunanidhi will not even offer pinch. When Jayalalitha unilaterally announced her decision to not to offer any seats to his party in 2006 Tamilnadu Assembly Elections,he waited for few more days till ADMK candidates for all constituencies are announced.Once it became clear that ADMK is no longer going to offer any seats to his party,he announced "Self respect is more important to him and he never lived life by selling self-esteem" in his rhetoric Tamil sequence words and started canvassing votes for DMK alliance.("Naan vazhndhadhu illai thanmanathai vithu, en endral suyamariyadhai ennoda sothu,udhayasuriyanukku votai kuthu".Then he left ADMK alliance and fielded candidates in 11 constituencies. he defecates on amma.His party supported DMK in balance constituencies and he campaigned throughout Tamilnadu and attacked [Vaiko][2] vehemently using his famous Tamil rhetoric sequences. ("Vaiko oru Saiko.En padam per oru thalai ragam, Vaiko oru thalai nagam" which means that Vaiko is Psycho and he is snake).His party lost deposit in all constituencies and he got 400 votes in Mayiladuthurai constituency. He canvased for kalaingar in last election.he urinates on the platforms.
He is an example of a man with extreeeeme over confidence and never learns from his mistakes..and he still acts as hero when his son is acting.

T. Rajendar or Vijaya T. Rajendar is famous for his contibution to the Tamil movies. Most of his yester year movies where chart busters. People might have also noted that most of his film names had 9 character [Tamil]. Example of those Titles are "Mythili Ennai Kathali", "Uyir + ulla + varai Usha", "Monisha En Monalisa" etc.
T.R is also famous for his rhyming dialogues. He is also famous (???) in creating sentimental scenes. People have to cry seeing at them, no matter why. He has donned most of the roles in his film. He leaves little for other to do. TR is also famous for the huge settings that he includes in his movie songs. There was a time when people where loving those sets. He has introduced so many cute heroines to Tamil films. To name a few are Nalini, Amala, Mumtaz etc..
He likes taking risks or adventures. One of his recent adventure is the film 'Veera saamy'. Try watching this movie if you are a hard core fan on Mr. Vijaya T. Rajendar

TR is one of the most versatile composer and lyricist of his time. At a time when Tamil film music was almost monopolized Illayaraja, TR's rare abilities in creating a fusion combining Tamil film beats with a small steak of malayali traditional music and carnatic swarams almost went unrecognized. I have never come across any other Tamil music director who consistently mastered this art. Examples include the great SPB melancholy "Naanum undan uyirai" (http://www.tamil.tamilsongs.net/page/build/album/615.html) and "Oru ponmaanai naan kana". TR is a classic example of a free thinker.
