T. R. Ajayan

Thandayan Raman Ajayan, popularly known as T. R. Ajayan, born in 1944 in Thalikulam, Kerala, is a renowned Malayalam literary and music critic and patron of arts and culture in the State of Kerala in South India. He is the son of Indian freedom fighter TK Raman who was among the founding members of the Communist movement in erstwhile South Malabar.
T. R. Ajayan is a founder member and convening secretary of Swaralaya Palakkad, a popular arts and cultural forum with more than 1600 Life Members, which he co-founded in 1997. He is also one of the current Directors of Malayalam Communications, the corporate entity behind the popular Malayalam television channels Kairali & People TVs. Besides these positions, T. R. Ajayan has also held directorships and key positions in various corporate entities and literary and socio-cultural organisations in Kerala such as Purogamana Kala Sahithya Sangham,Aalochana Sahithya Vedi, Palakkad District Sports Council, Palakkad District Tourism Promotion Council to mention a few.
A qualified civil engineer by profession, for over four decades, T. R. Ajayan has been instrumental for the construction of over thirty major bridges and more than twenty major buildings as well as several new important roads in Palakkad District. He is also been committed to the political scene in Kerala as member and activist of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
T. R. Ajayan has authored various articles on socio-cultural subjects and also published two books in Malayalam entitled Nadhadhara, a collection of articles on musicand "Mundur Krishnankutty - Ororma", a collection of articles on late short story writer.
