[edit] History

Its first activity as a band, T-Slam began in 1978, as Danni Bassan (vocalist), Izhar Ashdot (guitarist) and Yair Nitzani (keyboardist). The band recorded its first song Tnu Li Rokenrol (Give Me Rock N' Roll) in the Israeli Army Radio studios, and released their first album in 1981 - Radio Chazak (Loud Radio), only after they finished to work on other songs, and to complete the addition of another guitarist - Yoshi Sade.

Their second album, "T-Slam2" (תיסלם2), was released a year after, having enlarged their band, with drummer Sami Avzardel and bassist Tzuf Philosof. Their last album was released in 1983. Its name was LeAsfanim Bilvad (For Collectors Only) and included newer versions for some of their songs, covers for other bands, and a few songs made with the band Benzin.

In October 23, 1983, after a gig in Beer Sheba, the band announced that this was their last show, and that they do not intend to work on new songs. Their announcement made the croud in that show and the rest of their fans very sad, and lots of them cried.

[edit] Post-Disbandment Era

After the band dissolved, the six members started solo careers. Izhar Ashdot released a solo album, and Yair Nitzani released a few humorous songs to radio. In 1990 the band released a collection album (Nagnu Achshav - Play Now) that included one new song made by the whole band, and a few more songs that each member wrote independently, but recorded it with the band. The band also went to a successful reunion tour that year.

In 1994 the band made one show in the "Hard-Rock Café" in Tel Aviv. The show wasn't very known to the crowd, and therefore wasn't very successful.

Until 2003, each member went on a solo career: Danni Bassan released a solo album; Izhar Ashdot recorded more albums, and produced albums for other artist; Yair Nitzani was appointed CEO of Hed Artzi record company; Tzuf Philosof accompanied other bands; Yoshi Sade also accompanied bands, and produced albums for other artists; Sami Avzardel started a career in real estate in Israel and the United States.

In 2003, T-Slam went on a second reunion tour around the country, and released the DVD Or Shel Kochavim (Light of the Stars) - a show that took place in the old harbor of Tel Aviv, "Hangar 11".

In September 14, 2006, the band made one reunion show with Rami Fortis and Beri Saharov in Jerusalem.
