[edit] Make this THE new Switchfoot article!

We'll edit later, and often, but this article looks better than the current one. Just post what you have, and we'll edit new stuff as we go.

Okay, T-Rex? :) --Teenwriter 15:32, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Have you looked at it? The whole middle is just mubbled garbage right now... Unless I can do it tomorrow, I can't work on it until Monday or so --T-rex 23:18, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I think it looks good now -- T-rex 17:40, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This page is a proposed new page for Switchfoot

I plan to do these changes almost exclusively through copy and paste so I won't really be changing any of the content just the order and organization

[edit] Reasons for Changes

  • As the article has grown it has been almost exclusively in the top section
    • The intro should be only two paragraphs at the most
    • Should be broken up in sections like Band History, Current Singles, Awards...etc
  • The opening paragraph wanders off topic
    • Currently it includes two direct quotes
    • Opening Paragraph should include all 5 current memebers
  • Should The Early Years album be included in the Disography?

[edit] Please contribute more Ideas

[edit] Proposed opening paragraph

This seems good as the opening paragraph, using cut and paste from current content. Feel free to edit it Andrewduffell 22:41, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Switchfoot is an alternative rock / power pop / post-grunge band from San Diego, California, United States, whose intelligent lyricism focuses on spiritual and social themes. The current members are Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Chad Butler, Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley.

Ok I have started with that. However I have subtitled the phargraph on the Kensen Kids and lowercase people "Other efforts" (which is a horrendous title), does anyboady have something better? --T-rex 00:04, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

  • I agree with that opening paragraph. It says "it all" in a most concise manner.... Hmmm, as for the lowercase people...I'd title that (for now) "Other Projects." A little better than "other efforts" and will do...for now. --Teenwriter 22:44, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
    • Also...I totally agree with re-organizing this article. It needs it! More headers and less HUGE blocks of text. Good idea, T-Rex!--Teenwriter 22:44, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
T-rex, "intelligent" is a qualitative descriptor, and thus use of it without attribution to another source is POV, even though I agree with your opinion. I am again reverting it. Jpers36 18:51, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] looks good to me

Unless somebody says something I am putting it on the switchfoot page tomorrow --T-rex 05:42, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
