Tōmei Expressway
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tomei Expressway (東名高速道路 Tōmei Kōsoku Dōro?, lit. Tokyo and Nagoya Expressway) runs along the Pacific Coast of Honshū, Japan's main island, from Tokyo to Nagoya.
It connects to the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway [1] system at Yōga, in Setagaya, Tokyo. This seamless junction is over Kampachi (環八?), Tokyo's #8 ring road.
The other end is just north of Nagoya: the Komaki Junction, where it flows into the Meishin Expressway to Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe. It also meets the Chūō Expressway there.
Due to the extreme traffic on the Tomei Express way a Second Tomei Expressway is being built which largly runs parallel to it. In most cases it runs with 10-15km Northward of the the existing Tomei Expressway.
