The 7000 series (東京地下鉄7000系電車 Tōkyō Metoro 7000 kei densha) is an EMU which operates on the Yūrakuchō subway line of Tōkyō Metro (formerly known as "Eidan").

  • MT ratio: 6M4T and 5M5T (with 165 kW motors)
  • Control system of original: Chopper
  • Traction motor output: 150 kW (chopper control), 160 kW (6M4T IGBT-VVVF control), 165 kW (5M5T IGBT-VVVF control)
  • Gear ratio: 6.53 (98:15)
  • Headlights: Sealed beam
  • Destination indicators: 3-colour LED
    • Once used direction curtain.
  • Passenger information displays: 3-colour LED
    • 7133F and 7134F: 8 per car (since they built)
    • Many of 7101F~7120F: 4 par car (by remodel)
    • Some of 7101F~7120F and 7121F~7132F: not fitted
  • Seating arrangement (intermediate cars): 3-7-7-7-3
    • Seats are all long seat.
  • Driver's cab: Two handles (have no deadman system)
  • The Body is built in aluminium.
    • Long: 20 m
    • A side have 4 doors

The first sets were introduced in 1974, with a total of 34 10-car sets built up until 1989.

  • In 1974, 19 5-car sets built.
  • In 1980, 1 5-car sets built.
  • In 1983, 6 10-car sets built and all sets added to 10-cars.
    • Side windows change to big and 1 step down (before cars 2 step had windows).
    • Prepared to air conditioner.
    • Chopper control is improved.
  • In 1987, 1 10-car sets built.
  • In 1988, 5 10-car sets built.
    • Installed air conditioner.
  • In 1989, 2 10-car sets built.
  • In 1989 to 1994, cars which have no air conditioner remodeled to install it.
  • In 2006 or 2007, some cars of 7127F were junked.

[edit] Renewaled

Type of renewal are C-renewal (small scale) and B-renelal (big scale). All of 2 step window cars () were executed B-renenal and changed to 1 step window. Difference of sets with renewaled is so complex. Some sets of there renewaled middle increase cars () also renewaled and some sets are not. Middle increase cars of 7117F and 7120F are ncompleteness renewaled.

Control sysetm of 7101F~7120F is updated. Many sets changed to IGBT-VVVF system. Some sets reduced motorcars (6M4T→5M5T).

  • 7108F 7111F 7117F: Use remained chopper system which were gathered by remodel of VVVF (from middle increase cars ()).

All sets are operated on the Yūrakuchō Line, including inter-running services over the Tōbu Tōjō Main Line between Wakōshi Station and Kawagoeshi Station. And also services over the Seibu Yūrakuchō and Ikebukuro Lines between Kotakemukaihara Station and Hannō Station.
