Târnava River

The Târnava (Hungarian: Küküllő; German: Kokel) is a river in Romania. It is formed by the confluence of the rivers Târnava Mare and Târnava Mică in the town of Blaj. The Târnava flows into the Mureş River after 28 km, near the town of Teiuş. The Târnava and its source rivers lie completely within Romania. Their name are of Slavic origin, from trn, meaning "thorn".
