Székelyszentmiklós

Székelyszentmiklós, village in Transsylvania in the Unitarian part of Udvarhelyszék. Belongs to the neighbouring Siménfalva (lat. Sanct Simon) / Şimoneşti.

Populated by Unitarian Hungarians, mentioned first in the decimalist (tizedjegyzek) of 1332. The original church was destroyed and in the beginning of the 19 century, and the new church was build in a different place in the "middle" of the village. The saint = szent part of the name is the remnant of the Catholic past before 16 century, otherwise there is no Catholics live there.

The only road is a dirtroad to the village
