Synthesizer demo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A synthesizer demo is a kind of demo mode specific to synthesizers. The purpose of a synthesizer demo is to demonstrate the variety of instruments made available by the model, the amount of voices which the model is able to play at once (polyphony), and the different effects (if any) which may be applied. Rather than simply cycling through all of the different instruments and effects, however, a synthesizer demo usually seeks to show the different ways in which they may be used practically, and does this by performing of a preprogrammed song. The song is written into the synthesizer's firmware at the factory, and may either be an arrangement of an existing song, or a song composed specifically to showcase the synthesizer's strengths. This song may usually be activated by pressing a single clearly-marked button.
