[edit] History
[edit] Beginning
Syntax Records began with the 1999 joint release with Rescue Records, Sackcloth Fashion's Something for Everyone to Hate. Since then they have released over 30 albums by many different artists, most from Southern California.
[edit] Distribution loss
After their distributor, Diamante Music Group dissolved in 2004, Syntax Records went on hiatus. There was a brief explanation posted on SyntaxRecords.com, which has since been changed to simply, "Stay tuned...".
[edit] Present
In late 2006, Syntax announced on their official MySpace that they had signed a deal with Koch Entertainment, the largest independent distributor in North America. They also mentioned that their top artists, Sackcloth Fashion and RedCloud, will be releasing new albums soon. New volumes of their compilation series, Night Owls and Fashion Expo were also announced.
