"Synchrony" is the nineteenth episode of the fourth season of The X-Files. Mulder and Scully investigate a murder for which the suspect presents an incredible alibi — that the death was foretold by an old man able to see into the future. Text taken from the Synchrony summary here.

This episode marks the first reference to NMR spectroscopy on The X-Files.

The molecular model of the "freezing" catalyst shown in this episode contains less than 10 atoms and likely corresponds to a common organic compound rather than any fictional catalyst.
