SynSUN

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SynSUN are a psychedelic trance formation from Ukraine, formed in 1999 by Andrei "Vax" Vahnenko and Vitaliy "Willy" Samolga.

Vax and Willy formed the Zelur Project in 1999 and released a self-titled CD. In 2000 they adopted the name "SynSUN" (short for "Synthetic Sunshine") and released their second CD Full Power of Goa, gaining fame in underground goa circles for their relentless and massive sound. Their third CD, The Sound Of Cosmic Lifeforms (released in 2001) is what many consider their best collection, with famous tunes such as "Fight Fire with Fire", "Gagarinz Trip", and "Space Sirens". Their 2002 follow-up, Electronic Experience, was of considerably slower pace, but still had a musical edge. The following year Willy left the formation, and Vax alone produced the latest album, Symphonic Adventures, which merges the sonic scapes of goa trance with symphonic music. Evgeniy "Jeka" Ryabinin joined the project in 2006 and they announced to be working on an ambient album. [1]

SynSUN has a considerable fan base in the underground music scene, part of which can be owed to their demoscene fame; even though the band doesn't consider themselves "sceners", they contributed to many scene projects so far, including 604 by AND, Radial Blur Heroes by Throb and also the soundtrack for the trailer of the Mindcandy demo-DVD.
