[edit] Merge with Eigenvalue algorithm
Agree. Everything should be in one place.

It makes more sense to simply add a link to this page in the section characterstic polynomial on the other page. 17:58, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I think that this page is sufficiently light in detail and is necessarily an adjunct to the page on eigen vectors. So it makes sense to merge it in.
- Agree that this should be merged somewhere - either the algorithm page or the eigenvalue page. Haonhien 16:40, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
I prefer the shorter title "eigenvalue algorithm", so I would put the contents of "Symbolic computation of matrix eigenvalues" as a section of "eigenvalue algorithm" and redirect "Symbolic computation [...]" to "eigenvalue algorithm". After that we can sift out the repeated content. Any objections? --ANONYMOUS COWARD0xC0DE 08:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
well I'm no that sure about merging with the "eigenvalue algorithm" page as this page seems to consider only numerical methods, which are important for applications but only approximate. There are still non trivial matrices where a symbolic expression for the eigenvalues and eigenvectors can be given.
