[edit] Phua Chu Kang
Hello. I notice you have done a lot of editing to the pages for Phua Chu Kang and I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. Did the American actress Fran Drescher appear as her character Fran Fine (of The Nanny) on this show? The IMDb.com lists an appearance by her, but I'm trying to verify if that's correct. Thank you.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Tv just for laughs gags 2.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Tv just for laughs gags 2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BRossow 20:45, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Osamaendorses.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Osamaendorses.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit] On minor edits
Hello. Firstly, I would like to say good job on cleaning up many articles on Singaporean actors! However, you have also made many edits which I find to be controversial (such as removing the source films from the "notable roles" field in the infoboxes). I will discuss these edits if necessary on the talk pages of the relevant articles; that's not why I'm posting this. I am posting this message to request that you stop marking all your edits as minor edits, as any edit that could possibly be a subject of a dispute should not be marked thus. I did not discover some of your edits (some of which I do not agree with) until several days later, because you seem to mark all your edits as minor edits. Please see the help page on minor edits to get an idea of what constitutes a minor edit and what does not. This would greatly help other editors who have these articles on their watchlist and choose not to have minor edits shown.
I hope you understand. Once again, thanks for your hard work! -ryand 14:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Maggi & Me
Hey Syed, first of all I want to thank you for adding more info the article. I also did one for Living with Lydia, which by the way is shown in the United States (Which will also be screening Maggi & Me starting in 2007), and if you can do the same thing with the Lydia article that would be a plus. Thanks. Robert Moore 07:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] your recent edits
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to YouTube in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source. Per WP:COPYRIGHT: External sites can possibly violate copyright. Linking to copyrighted works is usually not a problem, as long as you have made a reasonable effort to determine that the page in question is not violating someone else's copyright. If it is, please do not link to the page. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of contributory infringement in the United States (Intellectual Reserve v. Utah Lighthouse Ministry). Also, linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work sheds a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors. If the site in question is making fair use of the material, linking is fine. Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information. |
Hi there. I removed the youbtube edit because it violates certain policies of Wikipedia. The big one is Wikipedia:External links, as YouTube is generally an external link to be avoided (almost always a copyviolation). Also see WP:NOT. Cheers. JoeSmack Talk 07:56, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ABC DJ
The edits I made to the ABC DJ article are based on correct English-language grammar and terminology. Please do not revert to an incorrect version of the article. Spylab 10:21, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Response to comment on my talk page: I did not say that Caucasians are not white. I said that Caucasians is not a synonym for white people, meaning not all white people are accurately described as Caucasian. Using the word Caucasian when referring to white people is not more polite or less racist, and it is technically incorrect. I have explained in the ABC DJ talk page why the word is innaccurate, and I have provided links showing why. If you were in Europe (especially in the areas around Russia) and used the word Caucausion, people would assume you were talking about Caucasian peoples, which is an ethnic/linguistic group that acctually has suffered from racism from white power activists and neo-Nazis. Only in the United States do some people incorrectly use the term Caucasion to refer to white people. Wikipedia must use accurate and universal terms. Spylab 15:50, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bean 1997 Movie DVD Cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Bean 1997 Movie DVD Cover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 10:22, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of The Sar-vivor Rap
An editor has nominated The Sar-vivor Rap, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Sar-vivor Rap and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it.
