Sydney Ducks

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sydney Ducks were an early American gang in San Francisco comprised mostly of Australian convicts who immigrated to California during the California Gold Rush in 1849. The Sydney Ducks congregated at the base of Telegraph Hill, in a neighborhood that was originally known as "Sydney-Town," but by the 1860s, was called exclusively by its better-known name, the Barbary Coast.
