Syd Owen

Sydney William Owen (February 28, 1922 - 1999) was an English footballer and football coach.
Owen was born in Birmingham. He made 388 first-team appearances for Luton Town. He was the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year in 1959 and led Luton Town F.C. to the FA Cup Final in the same year. He became a highly valued member of Don Revie's coaching staff at Leeds United F.C. and later served Manchester United F.C. in a similar role. He earned 3 caps for the England national football team, and was a member of the 1954 FIFA World Cup team.
