Syd Millar

Dr. Syd Millar, CBE (born 23 May 1934 in Ballymena) is the chairman of the International Rugby Board. He previously represented Ireland in the pack, winning 37 caps as a prop. In addition to this, he played 9 times for the British Lions. Millar also coached the successful 1974 British Lions tour to South Africa. Before becoming involved with rugby's governing body, he served as coach of the Irish national side at the 1987 World Cup and as head of the IRFU. Dr. Millar has indicated his intention to step down from his post following the 2007 World Cup.
