Swordstick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A swordstick or canesword is a cane incorporating a concealed blade. The term is typically used to describe European weapons from around the 18th century, but similar devices have been used throughout history. Note especially the Japanese shikomizue and the Ancient Roman dolon.
Caneswords are unique weapons and are legal to carry in most USA states. California considers them to be concealed weapons and are not legal to carry. It is a felony to carry a cane sword in public. They are also very easily hidden. A swordstick may be illegal to carry in many jurisdictions. It is a concealed weapon, and is sometimes considered a disguised weapon.
The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988, ISBN 0-11-088019-6 made Sword Canes illegal in England and Wales. Ownership of one, even in your own home, is a criminal offense. However, antique swordsticks, which are 100 years old or older, are legal.
