The Titans receive a present in the mail: mini puppet versions of themselves. All five of them are fond of their wooden marionettes.

But during the night, the evil Puppet King enters the Tower and uses his magic to trap souls of the boys within his wooden creations and take control of their bodies. Luckily, Raven and Starfire wake up due to the strange noises in the Tower, so they escape safely, but it turns out later that their essences have been switched, leaving Starfire in Raven’s body and vice versa. On discovering that, Starfire panics, but Raven tells her to calm down so that she can has a better control of her powers. Then she draws out a plan for the two of them to defeat the Puppet King, rescue the other Titans and get their bodies back as normal. In order to achieve that, the two girls have to learn to control their new bodies and the powers combined with them by teaching each other about it.

When Raven and Starfire finally get to Puppet King's place, Starfire is happy to find that her friends are still alive. The girls fight with Puppet King, and Raven manages to save the boys just as Puppet King intends to destroy their respective puppets by holding them over the fire. Raven takes over his control, makes him lose his magic, and the souls of the Titans all return to their original bodies. As for the evil enemy, he becomes a puppet, as a simple result of losing the power.
