Swing on Thru to the Other Side is the 2nd episode of the ABC and Disney Television Show Recess.

[edit] Synopsis

Swinger Girl is constant in her attempts to swing over the top of the swing set. Staying late one day, Spinelli believes she has seen Swinger Girl finally reach this goal and disappear into a flash of light. In the next few days she begins to preach to others that Swinger Girl has swung into another world and that others should attempt to emulate her simple and kind life. However as the followers grow, the belief grows from a simple faith to religious fanaticism. In the end Swinger Girl returns, simply having been absent from school, and Spinelli learns that the original teachings of kindness were not so bad, but the blind faith and extreme and fanatical actions of the false religion she lead were misguided.
