Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Incorporated

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Incorporated® (SΦS®) was founded at Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, NC, at the height of the Civil Rights Movement during the late 1960's. Twelve African-American women raised the bar of academic, social, political, excellence and cultural awareness by establishing this Afrocentric organization on Friday, April 4, 1969. The purpose of this organization is to foster a commitment to affecting social change, consciously uplifting women of color and being on the front line in regards to community involvement. Swing Phi Swing is an ideological offspring of the Civil Rights era or Human rights Revolution.

This illustrious organization is one of but a mere few that is constitutionally bound to their brother organization Groove Phi Groove, S.F.I.®
