[edit] Grip

The SwingSetter Features a molded grip from Golf Pride. The Grip places your hands correctly on the club. Rubber fins fit between the thumbs and fingers to correct the grip. The Swingsetter encompasses the key elements of David Leadbetter's swing philospohy. The SwingSetter teaches the basic componets what is known as the "modern" or "leverage" golf swing. Those would be a stronger grip, with the palms parallel to each other; A medium-long left thumb position, which is desirable in a leverage swing; a fairly early wrist set in the backswing, and a late release in the downswing. The plane pointer is used to ensure that the butt of the club is pointed between the ball and the golfer's toes at address; also desirable in the leverage golf swing. It is highly recommended that users view the included instructional DVD as well as review the included booklet before using the SwingSetter. The device's usefullness is really contingent upon understanding the basic swing elements as taught by the inventor, David Leadbetter. He does a thorough job of explaining and demonstrating the movements and sensations that the device is designed to engrain.

[edit] Plane

On the top of the grip, there is an extension called the plane pointer. This can be used during the swing to check the clubs plane. The SwingSetter also has two magnetic balls, with five settings each. The top ball has a weaker force, and is desingned to snap halfway during the backswing. If it snaps, you have a proper swing plane. If it snaps too late or too early, you will know that you have made a bad swing. There is also a plastic clubface of an Iron that clips on to the bottom of the grip. This lets you see the position of the clubface during the swing. It can also be removed and put on a normal club.

[edit] Tempo

The two magnetic balls are also desingned for Tempo. When you swing back, the top ball snaps, and when you swing through, the bottom ball snaps at impact. Both balls have 5 different settings, 1 to 5. 1 is for golfers with slower swing speeds, 5 is for golfers with higher swing speeds.

[edit] Release

The bottom ball has a much higher magnetic force. It snaps during impact, correctly releasing the club. Since the ball has five different settings, it can be ajusted to a players swing speed.

[edit] Professionals

Some of the professionals that use the SwingSetter are Vijay Singh, Justin Rose and Ernie Els[2].
