[edit] Image copyrights

Hello,

Are you still visiting Wikipedia? All of the images you uploaded are marked as fair use. Unfortunately, none of them are really being used as such. If you return, could you please leave me a note, and also relabel your images with their source? If you took the pictures, you can license them under the GFDL for their use in Wikipedia. Thanks. kmccoy (talk) 02:59, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Lahore Airport Pic - Reverting Back to the Original One

Salam, I'm reverting back to the older version of the photo of Allama Iqbal Airport's Terminal. In the newer version you uploaded, the sky was blown out by the high brightness settings. The image was taken near sunset time and in my opinion it looks pretty much ok, but if you want to change the brightness, try doing it on the darker part of the image and not on sky (using layers).

[edit] Pakistan Page

As per your suggestion I have added a better photo fo finacial hub of Karachi. I added MCB Tower photo. User:Siddiqui 06:12, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Park_towers_karachi.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Park_towers_karachi.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 23:03, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Jinnah picture

Twice you have replaced the picture of Jinnah with what you call a better picture. I disagree with this because most people will know Jinnah by the photo taken when he was older. If you were to show a picture of George W. Bush, would you show a picture of him taken during his Presidency or a picture taken when he was at college? It has to be the picture that most people would identify as being George Bush, i.e. the Presidency one. In the same way Jinnah's picture should be the one taken when he was heavily involved in the creation of Pakistan, not a picture of when he was a student. That picture better belongs in the article on Jinnah. Green Giant 21:50, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

The issue is not whether the picture is of poor quality or not, it is a question of relevance. The picture you posted was one of Jinnah during his early years which had very little to with Pakistan. It is a better copy of a picture in the Mohammad Ali Jinnah article. The picture you accuse of being almost a drawing is from a time in his life when he was involved in the creation of Pakistan and it will be that picture most Pakistanis would readily identify than your picture as being Jinnah the politician. Think about the George Bush analogy - on the page of the President of the United States of America, is it really relevant to show a picture of Bush at college or a picture of Bush when he was President? If you can find a more relevant picture of Jinnah, then put into the article by all means. Also try to use four tildes ~~~~ after your post to ensure your name and the time and date are left in the message too. Green Giant 23:56, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Please do contribute a better picture, I definitely do not stand in the way of progress. The four tildes should be typed in as the very last part of your message before you click save page. Green Giant 00:15, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Karachi pic on Pakistan

You seem to misunderstand the purpose of pictures. Pictures are not placed because they deal with important aspects. They deal with relavence. And since the Karachi picture, despite being a picture of probably the most important city in Pakistan, it just doesn't fit in well on the page. At the time I removed it was because I was adding a picture to another section that did not have a picture, so I removed a pic from a section that had multiple sections, and I found the Karachi pic to be the least important. Nevertheless, I will defer for the time being and leave the picture on the page, though I won't object if someone else removes it. Pepsidrinka 05:13, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mohatta Palace

I noticed you took and uploaded the picture of the Mohatta Palace. It is actually a great picture. Perhaps you could edit and expand the article, because as it stands now, it's a sub-stub. Pepsidrinka 19:35, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi,

You have produced some really beautiful images of Pakistan. If possible, could you upload these to the Pakistan Commons page too. Here, the image can be used in other Wikipedia sites that have Pakistan based articles.

[edit] Gallery on Pakistan

Pakistan is a featured article. Turkey is not. Pakistan has been approved by members of the Wikipedia to be one of the best on Wikipedia. Turkey has not. Pakistan has the ability to be featured on the main page. Turkey (in its current state) does not. Also, Wikipedia is not a indiscriminate collection of images, and photo galleries without any encyclopedic content is discouraged. Why not add the pictures to the respective subpages and enhance those pages. Too many Pakistan related pages are currently lacking content and/or images, but Pakistan is surely not one of them. There are over a dozen images already on the page. Pepsidrinka 11:28, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Karachi Skyline

The image that you prefer has a long wall a and looks very bad. Atleast image of Habib Bank is better than that photo. If you have better photo then please replace it but the wall photo should not inserted in Karachi page. Siddiqui 13:22, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Could the Image:Karachi_Chundrigar_skyline.jpg be cropped to remove the wall? Green Giant 01:41, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
We have to find a proper image of I. I. Chundrigar Road for Karachi page. All existing images are unacceptable to members. I have removed the existing image with long wall in front of distant skyline. It is better to have no image rather than unacceptable photos. I am searching for photos without any luck so far.
Siddiqui 02:53, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
I think that the wall and distant skyline is not the best representative of Karachi's Wall Street. The SeanMack has nominated Karachi page as a good article nominee, check Talk:Karachi. I think we have to form a team and work together to improve the page and get that nomination.
