A referendum on prohibition of alcohol was held in Sweden on the August 27, 1922.

The voter turnout was 55.1%, and the suggestion failed by 51% against 49.

There was plenty of campaigning from both sides, the most remembered poster being designed by artist Albert Engström, with the famous quote Kräftor kräva dessa drycker ("crayfish require these drinks").
