[edit] Welcome!

Hello Swaaye, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

I noticed you made some fairly major additions to pages about graphics and multimedia card manufacturers. They look really neat. It would be really appreciated if you could cite sources to allow others to later learn more and to verify the facts in the article. This makes wikipedia much more valuable and reliable; it's also normally much easier for the first editor to do. One system you could use to help with this is footnotes although there are others also listed in the pages I mentioned.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Mozzerati 21:43, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your work on the N64 article

Just saw the addition you put on the N64 article. I just wanted to say what a fantastic job your addition was. Because of your efforts, you've certainly earned this barnstar. Keep up the good work! You may place it on your User page, if you wish. Daniel Davis 02:35, 18 January 2006 (UTC) (Doom127)

I, Doom127 award this Technology Barnstar Award to Swaaye on January 17, 2006 for a fantastic and in-depth addition to Wikipedia.

Thanks!! I had posted on Beyond3D.Com's forum a year ago and chatted with a couple people who had actually developed for the system. Very fascinating machine and it was really great to be able to speak with the people who actually worked on it. I just wanted to get that info out on here where people would see it if they wanted to learn more. --Swaaye 03:27, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Savage4_TMUs

See my answer User_talk:Ilya_K#Savage4_TMUs Ilya K 11:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Also you should me more carefull in editing. They added single-pass multi-texturing, meaning the board could sample 2 textures per frame in one pass (not one clock cycle) through the rendering engine instead of halving its texture fillrate in dual-textured games

I don't understand why dual-texturing halves texturing fillrate? Texturing speed doesn't change in case of having 1 TMU, so having twice more textures halves pixel fillrate. Ilya K 11:12, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Againg that forum 3DMark 2001SE default: single-texturing: 45,6 multi-texturing: 76,0Results from 3DMark 01 are a bit strange :) Ilya K 11:22, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Hm, In 3Dmark 2001 SE i've got twice his numbers (90/145) Ilya K 11:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

http://www.3dsystem.ru/review-gxs4u.php4 they've tested in 3D Mark 2000 two fastest from their point of view drivers for Creative 3dBlaster Savage 4 109,8/109,8

and

test 640x480 16-bit 800x60016-bit 640x480 32-bit 800x600 32-bit
Fillrate (Single-Texturing), Mtexels/s 98,9 108,8 46,6 44,5
Fillrate (Multi-Texturing), Mtexels/s 97,7 97,8 82,4 79,7

also i've read that Savage 4 could have 32,64,128 bit memory bus modifications, and that chineses cards may have any parameters :)Ilya K 11:57, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Finally i should agree that Savage 4 most probably has 1 tmu Ilya K 13:23, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Not that your additions aren't good, but you could try to compress them into one or two in a row rather than four or five... or even more. One easy way to do this is to use the "Show preview" button, so you know what your changes look like before you hit "save."

P.S. whoops forgot to sign.. lol.. I'll let you figure out the irony :) Dan 06:20, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Yea, yea. But, if you go through those revisions, you'll see big changes fairly often because after I make one change I sometimes come up with another chunk of info that I figure would fit with the previous new addition. I do make very liberal use of the preview button. It's hard to make perfect major additions to pages even with preview. --Swaaye 16:26, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] S3

  • You dropped Unichrome Pro integrated graphics.
  • I've read that S27 doesn't support SM 3.0
  • S2X also support MultiChome (SLI/Crossfire analog) well

Ilya K 18:07, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok, well, add that info if you can provide references. I was going off of reviews and previews. Info for much of S3's integrated video hardware is quite limited. In fact, you are right about Chrome S27. The best look at that is here.--Swaaye 18:56, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Outofthisworld.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Outofthisworld.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 16:09, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:9700chip.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:9700chip.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Iamunknown 04:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
