Swanpool

Swanpool is a small lake that is dammed up behind the beach of the same name in Falmouth, Cornwall, England.

It is rumored that during World War II, a bomber attempting to crash land on the beach ended up in the lake. In the 1970s a SeaKing search-and-rescue helicopter crashed on to the beach and was lifted away by a much larger helicopter.

Scientific importance as it is one of the few locations that has the perfect salinity for the growth of the trembling sea mat a really exciting bryozoan.
