[edit] School Day
A regular school day consists of six periods, the first beginning at 07:40 and the last ending at 14:00. Suzanne Middle School employs a system of schedule rotation that is unique in the district. Periods are referred to in letters - Periods A, B, C, D, E, and F. The first period is always Period A on any given day; hence, it is commonly referred to as the "homeroom" since it never changes. However, the exact schedule of Periods B, C, D, E, and F varies with the days of the week. For example, on Monday, the schedule is A, B, C, D, E, F. On Tuesday, the order becomes A, C, D, E, F, B - note that B moved, or "rotated", to the end of the school day while C replaces the former position of B. Continuing through the week, the order of Wednesday is A, D, E, F, B, C, and the pattern is repeated until A, F, B, C, D, E is reached on Friday. If one more step is taken in the pattern, the schedule is once again A, B, C, D, E, F on Monday. The purpose of such a system, according to some teachers, is to provide the students with some variety in the school week.[verification needed]

Hence, the student-teacher ratio is at 26 students per 1 teacher. [edit] API Results
The Academic Performance Index (API) system documents a school's academic performance by comparing year-to-year test scores over a two-year cycle. Recently, the 2006 Growth of Suzanne Middle School ranked at 895 in comparison to the 2005 Base at 874, with a growth result of 21 that met its state-assigned 2006 schoolwide growth target.[4] However, Suzanne Middle School has not met its 2006 subgroup growth target.
In the 2005 Statewide Rank, Suzanne Middle School places at a 10,[5] meaning that its API fell in the top 10% of all schools in the state with a comparable grade range. The 2005 Statewide Rank is calculated with the school's spring 2005 test scores. In the 2005 Similar Schools Rank, which compares the school's test scores with those of 100 other schools across the state with similar demographic profiles, Suzanne Middle School places at a 4.[6] The state identifies similar schools by factors including parent education level, poverty level, student mobility, and student ethnicity.
