Sutton Valence School is an independent school near Maidstone, Kent, UK. It contains around 540 pupils. It has an excellent reputation for sport, music, art, drama, as well as superb academic results in GCSEs and A-Levels[citation needed]. It is a co-educational school with a boarding option (approximately 1/3 of its pupils board). The two boarding houses are Westminster and St. Margarets. There is much historical rivalry between the two boarding houses.

Founded in 1576 by William Lambe, Master of the Clothworkers', and a member of the Chapel Royal of Henry VIII. It remained under the control of the Clothworkers' Company until 1910 when it was taken under the control of an educational trust.

Its famous pupils include the runner Sydney Wooderson, painter Terence Cuneo, conductor Sir Charles Groves, and BBC journalist Ben Brown.

The current headmaster is Joe Davies. The school has an excellent sporting reputation, fielding particularly fine Rugby, Cricket and Hockey teams. The school is currently in the midst of rennovation and expansion, building a new maths block, theatre and indoor swimming pool. The sports hall is dedicated to Sydney Wooderson, a former pupil who enjoyed many athletic triumphs.
