Susan Price

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Susan Price, born 1955 in Dudley in the West Midlands, is an award winning English writer of novels for young adults. She also writes for younger children. She still lives in the Black Country.

Many of Susan Price's works are fantasy, from science-fiction to ghost stories; some are historical novels; others are about animals or everyday life. Many of her short story collections are re-tellings of tales from folklore.

In her most celebrated novel The Sterkarm Handshake and its sequel A Sterkarm Kiss time travel leads to conflict between a 21st century corporation and a sixteenth-century border clan. The Pagan Mars Trilogy is set in a scientifically-advanced alternative world where the pagan gods are still worshipped and slavery - called bondery - is commonplace.
